Wine estate Franzen

Steep, steeper, Calmont. Part of the 9 ha estate of the Franzen’s lies on Europe’s steepest vineyard: The Bremmer Calmont. Ecological aspects play an important part in its cultivation, as traditional experience is combined with the most up-to-date oenological and ecological discoveries.

Kilian Franzen

„We produce almost exclusively dry wines with intense mineral character from our breath-takingly steep vineyards. What is equally important to us is to keep winemaking as natural as possible and to give our wines time to find their equilibrium.“

Falstaff

Newcomer of the year 2018

Highlights

Unique: Our estate offers tasting events in the Bremmer Calmont, the steepest vineyard of Europe. We also hold food and wine events with chefs and growers of the Mosel Terraces wine district.
