The history of our estate dates back to the 17th century. In the 1970s Franz Josef Regnery sold his vineyard holdings on the flat plain and acquired parcels in the best sites of the Klüsserather Bruderschaft instead. Today his son Peter, a graduate of the Geisenheim wine university, reaps the benefits of his father’s wise decision.

To grow wine on steep slopes is our simple philosophy.

We make only wines from the Riesling and Spätburgunder varieties grown on the best steep vineyard sites of the Middle Mosel. These south and south-east facing sites with their slate soils absorb the warmth of the sun during the day and pass it back to the vines at night, which gives our wines their unique character and substance.

Our portfolio is not 100% classic Mosel, as one quarter of our wines are red from the Spätburgunder variety. 70% of our wines are vinified dry.

Once again Peter Regnery presents a sound collection. There is hardly anybody else on the Mosel, who can match the quality of his red wines.
Eichelmann 2016
As far as red wine is concerned, Regnery is the yardstick on the Mosel.
Eichelmann 2018
Untypical for the Mosel is the high proportion of Spätburgunder at the estate, a quarter of the area under vine. The red classics, mostly vinified in barrique, are aromatic and juicy – proof that they exist, red wines from the Mosel that can be recommended.
