Graceful elegance, ripe aromas and mineral intensity are our idea of the ideal Mosel Riesling. Pure drinking pleasure! The singularity of these great sites, complemented by our experience from over 200 years of winegrowing tradition, have given us Riesling wines with a special and unique character.

What we value above all is the age of our vines. The oldest vineyard of our estate was planted in 1896 with vines on their original rootstock and they are still in production today, probably the vineyard with the oldest Riesling vines in the whole of the world.

Loewen’s keen instinct for Riesling is simply unique!
Stuart Pigott, FAZ 2011 „Carl Loewen, Rising Star of 2011"
The Riesling 1896 is in a class of its own. Even though this is only the fifth vintage of this particular wine, this is one of the best dry white wines of the world.
Stuart Pigott for FAZ „Grower of the Year 2018"
Magnificent: Karl Josef Loewen and Christopher Loewen have a vintage in their cellar, of which the cheerful father and son team are fully deserving. Our jury was in raptures with praise.
Falstaff Wine Guide 2017 „Collection of the Year"
Mindblowing lusciousness and concentration, then a finish that´s so fundamental it´s like meeting God.
James Suckling: Maximin Herrenberg Beerenauslese 100 Points
In it´s infant stage this wine comes across as a clash between two meteorits, minerality and stone fruit. Sparks fly on the palate and create a firework of dusty, stony and crunchy fruity sensations.
