Our quality philosophy begins in the vineyard. Integrated cultivation, the use of organic fertilisers, stringent pruning, thinning of the grapes in the summer, selective manual picking, fermentation with ambient yeasts are all part of our policy of aiming for varietal expression at the highest level of quality.

I´m not sure that 2011 was entirely conductive to that style, but with its ripe green fruit partnered by a juicy acidity the Günterslay came pretty close to my idea of a perfect Mosel Kabinett.

Eichelmann, 2.5 stars
The wines exhibit freshness and preciseness of fruit, are slender and mineral. In addition there are two strong Spätburgunders, which belong to best of the region.
Gault&Millau, 1 red grape
The youthful and still enormously tannic Spätburgunder Nummer 1 is first class, and we also liked the powerful Riesling “Tradition"
